Overview

This trekking trip to the Spiti valley is one of the most remote and exciting trekking trip in India which will give you an opportunity to experience the Buddhist way of life at the Spiti valley which has remained changed for hundreds of years. You will not only interact with the locals but will also witness their daily farming tasks, cooking activities and water management. If you are lucky you may encounter some of the world’s most endangered species such as the Tibetan Wolf, the Blue Sheep and the Snow Leopard. Spiti also attracts Indian motorcyclists who find this area great for bike adventure.

Trip will unfold as:

Day 1

Delhi

Arrive at Delhi Airport. The Cloud Itineraries representative escorts you to the pre-booked hotel for staying overnight. You would have the rest of the day free to explore the city or just relax at the hotel.

Day 2

Delhi- Manali (540 kms/12-13 hrs)

In the morning leave for Manali and check in at the hotel.

Day 3

Manali

The day is free to explore the city by visiting colorful market, Roerich Art Gallery and Hidimba Devi temple.

Day 4

Manali- Kaza (210 kms/7-8 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed towards Kaza driving through the panoramic sceneries. Arrive Kaza and check in at the hotel.

Day 5

Kaza

Explore the destination by visiting local villages and markets. You can also visit the Kye Monastery, biggest monastery in the Spiti Valley.

Day 6

Kaza- Langza (16 kms/1 hr)

Leave for Langza to visit the Lang temple, which is about 1000 years old and the main gompa in the area. It has some ancient frescoes and thangkas (type of Tibetan Buddhist painting) and other local artifacts. Spend the overnight in a homestay.

Day 7

Langza- Jureley (4740 m/5-6 hrs)

Start your trekking journey towards Jureley passing through villages, enjoying geology of Spiti with some amazing views of Chau Chau Kang Nilda and Chau Chau Kang Namo. You may be lucky to see blue sheep. Spend overnight in a camp.

Day 8

Jureley- Mulchay (4560 m/4-5 hrs)

Start trekking towards Mulchay passing through grazing lands of yaks and horses. Spend overnight in a camp.

Day 9

Mulchay- Demul (4357 m/2-3 hrs)

Start trekking towards Demul, which is one of the most isolate village of Spiti valley. One can get amazing panaromic views from here. Spend overnight in a homestay.

Day 10

Demul- Lhalung (3758 m/4-5 hrs)

Start trekking towards Lhalung, also known as the land of god. Visit Sanglung village en-route. Arive Lhalung and drive to Dhankhar. Spend overnight in a homestay or monastery.

Day 11

Dhankar- Kaza (35 kms/1 hr)

Start your day with a visit to ancient monasteries, Dhankar Fort, a fort monastery in the Central Tibetan pattern. Later drive to Kaza.

Day 12

Kaza- Manali (210 kms/7-8 hrs)

Drive to Manali and rest of the day is free to relax.

Day 13

Manali- Delhi (540 kms/12-13 hrs)

Drive to Delhi and check in at the hotel.

Day 14

Delhi

From the airport in Delhi, take your onward flight.
